Hi, my name is Aengus, I have been wanting to learn poi and other fire-manipulation techniques for a long time. Anyone in the Los Angeles area teaching? Or, anybody have good self-teaching methods?
Thanks,
Aengus

Re: Wanting to learn Poi
Tue, February 22, 2005 - 6:09 PMBelieve it or not I used the little snippets from home of poi in conjunction with what others show me. Go to poi gatherings!
It does help a lot to have a friend in the "bizness" if you would.
I do have a great teacher, but I find it benificial to just play with the damn things. I'll be lighting up as soon as the weather permits!!!!! Bad thing about starting the learning process in the winter I guess.

Re: Wanting to learn Poi
Tue, February 22, 2005 - 9:02 PMNi kidding. I am in Southern California, and I swear, I have to swim out to the curb to get my mail, it is raining so bad. Don't get me wrong. I am not one of the 'wimpy' californians that bitch at a little drizzle. I grew up in Georgia and Texas. That is some rain. Crazy here, I tell you. -

its just too cold, and if its not too cold the wind is friggin crazy. Of course the fire would keep ME warm but nobody is gonna spot with a wet towel, or even fire blanket.
AH but soon!
